Finer Points of Center-to-Edge Aiming
What is the most critical element of Center-to-Edge Aiming?
Answer: It’s knowing the aim line so that the cue-ball aiming edge can be geared to be aligned to the object-ball aim point.
So, what is the concept of Center-to-Edge for?
Answer: CTE is the sighting side of the coin that is used as a visual to ensure the aim line is properly geared to be 100% aimed-up.
Pros do not align to the aim line, nor do they align to the sight line. So what do pros align to?
Answer: The aiming and sighting process functions to naturally lead a player’s bridge V to one side of the sight line or the other. This is a big deal!
It’s a real big deal! Natural bridge V placement is key to an alignment phenomenon that pros have never been able to explain. The visual act of placing one’s bridge V to favor a specific half of the cue ball naturally engages a player’s vision in a subconscious act of stepping the cue ball. What? By seeing the bridge V side of the cue ball, the sight-line cue ball center is turned to a new center by subconsciously seeing the outer cue ball edge for the half that gets the bridge V. That new center is 90 ticks away from the outermost cue ball edge. That’s the TARGET for solving the shot! There’s no target on the object ball.
In 200+ years, the above detailed information about human perception for aligning to center cue ball has never been explained.
